Kim and Friends' Songs
Voices in the Wilderness

Least of Them

Voices in the Wilderness

A christian song from Matthew 25:40. What if I were naked, cold and hungry, Would you be the one to help me out? I had fun playing bass.

Finish What He Started

Voices in the Wilderness

I think this is my favorite bass-playing song. It's got a really fun rolling bass line! It has a great Christian message in it, too.

Gotama Buddha

Voices in the Wilderness

I'm not familiar with the history of Buddhism, so when I was learning the bassline to this song, I didn't know it was "Gotama Buddha." For some reason, I kept singing along... "God Tumble Buddha." I knew that was silly, but that's what it sounded like to me. I love the vibe of this song. It always makes me smile.

Cast The First Stone

Voices in the Wilderness

Another well known passage from the Bible (John 8:7). Jesus points out the hypocrisy of men. This track is soft and sweet at the beginning and then rocks out at the end. Who is without sin among you let him cast the first stone.

Nam Myoho Renge Kyo

Voices in the Wilderness

This song recognizes that the key to true spiritualism is within us... not with any messiah. Chanting "Nam Myoho Renge Kyo" is the most fundamental part of the practice of Buddhism and recognizes this. It allows each individual to tap into his or her innate enlightened nature.

Voices in the Wilderness

One of the most memorable passages in the Bible. For God so loved the world that he gave his only son that whoever believed in him shall not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16). A song from Voices in the Wilderness, a spiritual project from Duane Tate. I played bass on this one.

Thru Our Eyes

Voices in the Wilderness

An ode to a higher power. A creator who can help stop the fighting, help stop the suffering. Another song I played bass on. We alone are nothing without your love.
