The plaque says (in part):
During her wartime career, PINTADO made six war patrols in enemy waters, including the Philippine Sea, Yellow sea, East China Sea and South China Sea, during which she disposed of five naval vessels and ten merchantmen of the Empire of Japan, sunk or otherwise disabled, totaling 132,900 tons of enemy shipping. Losses to the Japanese also included half o their 43rd Division "put out of action" while trying to reinfoce Saipan just prior to our forces invading that enemy stronghold in the Mariana Islands. In addition, PINTADO rescued all thirteen crew memebers of the B-29 "City of Galveston" during her fifth patrol.
