I wrote this for the indie film Two Days by Paige Carl Griggs. I read the script and put myself in the place of May, the female lead. Duane helped me by adding slide guitar and harmonica. I hope you like it. You can also hear it in the Two Days trailer.

A simple stash; the relics I can hold
Funny how the smallest things soothe my soul
I won't throw it away
I'll feel you day after day
Ethereal twilight and poems shared with one
The warm reminders; an innocent kind of love
I won't throw it away
I'll feel you day after day
Through the thick smell of blood
and the iron hot pain of a lie
You find yourself wondering how it would be
if the sunflower had touched the sky
I won't throw it away
I'll feel you day after day
These old souvenirs are all I know
I'm the shadow of a girl cast by their glow
I'll watch as Orion guards the stars at night
And I'll be the warrior protecting mementos in kind
I won't throw it away
I'll feel you day after day
Through the thick smell of blood
and the iron hot pain of a lie
You find yourself wondering how it would be
if the sunflower had touched the sky
