i remember as a kid seeing one of these in the dc zoo. i loved it. maybe it's called an alligator turtle? from china? it was huge i remember.

This one is a Mexican Snapping Turtle. I looked down into a pond at one, too. I could tell he wanted to bite me.

Actually I have 2 alligator snapping turtles in a pound in my house, they are the best pets in my life and these turtles just amazing!!!!

i am 11 years old and when i was 10 i went to the zoo with my friends and we thought it was a big huge lizard cause its tail was sticking out of a bush... but we couldnt figiure it out so we tought hard and we decided to come back at snack time and see when we SAW THAT THING OUR EYES WENT ALL BUGGY then we asked what it was called that night we reserched them.ever science then we have falln in with them
