Sewell Park is on the campus of Southwest Texas State University where I got my undergraduate degree. I've been tubing 2-3 times on this river (San Marcos River). I like tubing, but the thing I hate is that the people I went with always had to bring a cooler full of beer. It's not the beer I hated so much, but the preparation it took to get a cooler full of beer on the river. They'd show up at the time we were supposed to start tubing with an empty cooler. So I'd have to wait while they went to the store for beer and ice. Then they had to get the cooler into an inner tube, so it would float. I've stood around for over an hour while people were fussing with a stoopid cooler. I have a great dislike for coolers now. tongue

i went tubing down the idaho river and that was fun as it had some rapids. i went tubing in the new river here where i live and that was fun too but in a different way. we had no beer though, or coolers. i think the cooler situation would have annoyed me too.

I'd like to tube on a river with some rapids. The San Marcos River only has one little waterfall. It's fun, but rapids would be more fun. Next time I go tubing, I'm going with you, bud. cool

Texas is awesome because we drink beer on the river and take care of it. Texas, the rivers, and San marcos are beatiful. We keep it that way and I will drink a beer on the water for all of you. Cheers!
