My Mom in front of Turner Falls in the summer of 1940. When I was a kid, I remember passing the Turner Falls exit when we traveled to my Aunt Bonnie's house in Oklahoma. I always wanted to stop, but my parents were always in too much of a hurry. Shortly after my Mom died, I was going through her cedar chests and found some photo albums with old pictures of her and her family and friends (including this one). A few weeks later, I traveled up to Oklahoma to have Thanksgiving dinner with my Aunt Mary at Aunt Bonnie's old house. On the way back to Austin, I stopped and saw Turner Falls with my own eyes for the first time. Over fifty years later, it looked just the same as in the picture.
