The Driskill Hotel in downtown Austin. On my way home from work. I read through the history at Driskillhotel.com, and found out it was bought and sold and renovated many times. Nothing about ducks living there, though. Lyndon B. Johnson met Lady Bird there for their first date in the Driskill dining room for breakfast. I'd hate to have breakfast be my first date. I'd be yawning and all I'd want to do is go back to bed. Hmmm... maybe that was LBJ's plan! LBJ also waited out the election results there in 1960 (vice president) and 1964 (president). I've been inside there only once. It was a reception for UT accounting students held by one of the big accounting firms. I had an awful time, but the hotel was real pretty inside.
