I have watched bits and pieces of this film several times but never watched it start to finish. I just never knew what to make of it or whether I wanted to invest the time in watching it all the way through.

You've probably seen most all there is to see. I might not have watched the whole thing if I didn't have a thing for Arliss Howard. smile

Movie

Wilder Napalm

Wilder Napalm at Amazon
Arliss Howard and Dennis Quaid play brothers who have the power to start fires with their minds. Debra Winger is the woman they love who is, oddly enough, on house arrest for arson. She's married to Wilder (played by Howard). I either love Dennis Quaid or hate him, and in this one I hate him. Hate's too strong a word, but that's the saying, so I'm sticking with it. In this movie, he's a jerk and a clown (I don't know which is worse).

Winger wants more than Howard gives... she yearns for the fame she knows Howard could get if he would only make his fire starting talent known. Instead, he works in a parking lot photo booth and volunteers for the local fire department.

There's a scene where Winger is playing what I think is a cello. Wow... the song she's playing is sultry. I like it.

This is a quirky movie, and Arliss Howard is dreamy (to a girl with a crush on Arliss Howard).

Addendum: I was just checking out Debra Winger's biographical information at IMDB and found out she's married to Arliss Howard and used to be married to Timothy Hutton. Lucky lady.
