When I went on one of my independent journey vacations to Phoenix, this movie was playing in an artsy theater just down the street from my hotel. I'd planned to go see it, but something else came up. Or maybe I did one of those things where I planned to go right up until the time I realized it was too late to go, and I went on with my life. It might have been a different experience in an old artsy theater. On my bedroom TV it was indie film without the quirk. You gotta have quirk.

Campbell Scott is a dentist married to a dentist. He suspects she's having an affair, but he won't ask her. When he begins to suspect, he also begins to see Denis Leary, one of his more difficult patients, in visions. Leary gives him advice about what to do about his wife.

Maybe Scott's visions of Leary and other fantasy sequences where he imagines his wife having affairs were supposed to be quirk. Not enough.

In the end, Scott finds out the truth, and the Leary vision walks away with packed bags. I guess that means it's the suspicion that makes you crazy.

There are other scenes where each member of the family gets with with the flu and another where Scott does yardwork at a cabin.

It's not a terrible movie; it's just boring.
