The Eddy Duchin Story

The Eddy Duchin Story at Amazon
I'm not an ambitious person as far as wanting money and fame, so I didn't connect with the main character in this biography at all. Tyrone Powers plays a talented pianist who headed to New York wanting fame and fortune. He found Kim Novak who plays a socialite from a rich family. She tells him that money isn't the answer to happiness, but, of course, she's already rich. He gets his fame and fortune, and realizes that it's not the money that matters when he loses her after giving birth to his child. But, of course, now he's already rich, too. So he turns his back on his child (I guess he didn't truly learn the lesson yet). When he finally realizes that he needs to do right by his child and falls in love with another woman, he gets sick and dies. Whatever. I guess since I already know that money isn't the answer to my happiness, I can't appreciate these stories. Or something. Kim Novak is beautiful, as usual.
