TiVo kept suggesting this, and I kept ignoring it. Until one day, I gave in. Now I've watched it at least 8 times. Well... not really sat down in front of the TV and watched it, but had it on while I did other things. Except for today when I was sick and forced myself to lay down on the couch and watch TV. It's a great movie!! Even in he background all those times, I enjoyed it!
Kevin Corrigan plays Redmond. He keeps getting into trouble because of his shady (but funny) Uncle Sam played by James Woods. The movie starts with Uncle Sam stealing a a car (I think it's a Lincoln) and running across Redmond who's clothes are smoking. Redmond is running away from his apartment that has just caught on fire. Uncle Sam gives Redmond a bag to take to a guy at the train station which causes Redmond to say "Holy Sh·t" for not the first time in the movie. One time I thought about counting the number of times he says "Holy Sh·t," but then I thought I'd rather just enjoy the movie.
Redmond is on a quest to find "the truth" for a book he's writing. He finds Linda Fiorentino and falls in love even though the first words she says to him is "F·ck You."
Here's one of my favorite quotes from Redmond when his friend Stretch offers him a job:
"Naw, I can't handle a job right now. It wouldn't be good for me. I'm going through a self-destructive period."
