It's always cruddy when I have to add my 2¢ and be disagreeable, even if it's a small thing! Anyhow, I have to say that I didn't care for this movie. I can't pinpoint one thing, but I recall, overall, feeling bothered by it. It might have been because I thought it was going to be a comedy, but it was much more serious.

Anyhow, I'd like to agree with the nods to Adam Arkin. He's one of those actors that doesn't get a whole lot of notice but is often like a spice adds flavor to the overall movie, I think. He definitely deserves more credit for what ever it is he's categorized as! There are lots of actors like him that I enjoy. I don't know his real name, except Booger (from Better Off Dead). He's always fun to watch in a serious role or not!wink

(After reading this, you now know why I am no reviewer*!)

Shoot.. you're not disagreeable... just giving your opinion. smile I've had that happen where I thought a show would be a comedy, and it turned out serious. I was bothered by it, too.

That Booger guy is good, too! He was in "Moonlighting" and "One Crazy Summer." hehe

Yep. I love that Booger. He was also in Revenge of the Nerds and a whole slew of tv shows. Spritle and I just saw him on tv, but for the life of me, I can't remember which one! Dang! How about the guy who's the mailman, in Better Off Dead? He's another good one, but I don't know his real name, either! Umm

Hanging Up

This was a cute movie, and a little hard to watch at the same time. It reminded me some of when my Dad was in and out of the hospital. Walter Matthau plays the father of Meg Ryan, Diane Keaton and Lisa Kudrow. It's about sister relationships, father/daughter relationships, a little of husband/wife relationships, and a sad bit about a mother who decided she didn't want to be a mother after having 3 girls. Adam Arkin plays Meg Ryan's husband. Oh boy... do I like Adam Arkin! He's the reason I loved "Chicago Hope." And he was cool as the bitter weirdo on "Northern Exposure."

I also liked the doctor whose car Meg Ryan wrecked and his mother who made the decision what he would do about it. Here's a dialogue with Meg Ryan and the mother on the phone when the mother said his radiator exploded:

Meg: Are you sure?

The Mother: Omar does not make mistakes. He's a genius. He can fix your ovaries with a laser.
The doctor also mentioned Kim Novak in the movie, and that's always a thrill for me.

Everyone in this movie had really nice houses and really nice cars. The pool at the house where the girls grew up was wonderful with a bridge going right across it. Whooot! I want one. smile

I say "Yay!" for Hanging Up!
