I love that movie. It's so low key, but the dialogue just snaps. And, of course, it was a perfect role for John Cusak.

I have mixed feelings about this GPB, BUT it was good, overall.
I need to seek out Ann Cusak...I don't know if I missed this entirely, or I just don't remember I noticed (heh!), but when I get a chance to see the movie, again, I'll be paying close attention!smile

Movie

Grosse Pointe Blank

Grosse Pointe Blank at Amazon
This is a very cute romantic comedy with the twist that John Cusack's character is a professional hitman. Alan Arkin plays John Cusack's therapist in both this movie and America's Sweethearts. That's just a little bit of trivia for you in case you missed it. I loved this movie. John Cusack is such a deadpan genius. He decides to go back to his 10 year high school reunion. The last time he was there, he stood his prom date up. Minnie Driver is the prom date, and he wants to win back her heart.

I think my favorite scenes are when John Cusack is talking to his assistant who is played by his sister Joan Cusack. She's the one who kinda talked him into going to the reunion. His therapist told him to go, too.

John Cusack's sister Ann plays a drunk lady who interrupts John and Minnie when they are hanging out in a bar. I saw her name in the credits and did some research to see how she was related to John and I found out the their Dad died in June. He was an advertising executive who quit in 1970 to do stuff in the film industry. He wrote The Jack Bull, too.

Yay! for Grosse Pointe Blank!
