Yay! Movies!

Family Prayers - When I was over at Amazon.com grabbing the link to this movie, I saw a review that called this movie "heartwarming." I didn't come away with a warm heart feeling so much, but it's a nice movie. There's no major plot that ends in an "aha" or anything. It's more about relationships, I guess. Joe Montegna is great in it. He's the dad, but he has a compulsive gambling problem.

The son, Andrew, is getting ready for his bar mitzvah. He goes to Paul Reiser for help, and that leads to some cool interaction. I love when Paul Reiser gives Andrew the rock n roll albums to listen to, and Andrew goes home and ends up dancing like Elvis. Cute! Something I noticed... I don't think Andrew smiled the entire movie. Oh... except maybe when he filled his mouth up with fizzies and drank some punch. What a mess!

I recorded it because Shiri Appleby from "Roswell" is in it. She was just a kiddo, but she was the same in many ways! I love seeing actors and actresses when they were kids.
