It's gotta be just about every boy's dream to make a flying machine! Probably a lot of girl's, too! happy

The really cool thing about this movie (I think it came out in 85' or 84') is that me and my friends Jimmy Oakum and Billy Waggs, made our own spaceship out of two by fours, half penny nails, spray paint, and tried to hook our Commodore Vic-20 (the computer that used your television as a monitor) to it with a big long orange extension cord (that belonged to my dad's electric lawn mower). Of course we never blasted into space, but I eventually did meet you know who, and we had a heck of a lot of fun with our spaceship!

That sounds like so much fun! How come adults never build spaceships and forts and stuff. Kids have it made!!

I wish I had watched this movie back when it came out. I would have found a new heartthrob. Jason Presson is soooo darn cute! Love I loved how he was such a tough kid (helping Ethan Hawke when he was getting beat up by that bully), but he also had a soft heart (taking that frog toy that his dad gave him into space).

After doing some internet research, I found out he hasn't been in too many movies. I put him in my TiVo wishlist, though, so when one comes on, I'll be able to see it. Woo-Hoo!! I wonder what he's up to now, though.

I thought Ethan Hawke looked a lot like a male Bridget Fonda.

There were some things I didn't really get about this movie. Like what that older guy's role was. I guess he was having the dreams, too. He found the spaceship and saw the kids take off, but nothing really happened with him after that. I also didn't understand what that thing was that the alien gave to Ethan Hawke. Something to do with dreams, but they really didn't explain it.

The second coolest thing (next to discovering Jason Presson) was that I saw Amanda Peterson! I didn't even know it was her until the credits rolled. I feel kinda foolish, though, because I see her picture all the time here. There's even a picture of her there from this movie!

If I was able to make a spaceship like that, I'm not sure I'd have the guts to go into space. I think I'd like to fly around and look at lakes and cities and stuff. Or fly to other countries. But I'd still be kinda scared I'd get somewhere and not know where to park.
