It is weird because I was home the other day and saw a movie that looked similar to the original cube, then I obviously figured out there was a part two. I have not had the chance to see it from the biggining, so I didnot watch it. The first one was amazing, and I am sure the second one is as well. for anyone who has seen the second Cibe and not the first, I highly recommened watching the first one to have a grasp of what is going on in the second.

Cube 2: Hypercube

I didn't see the original Cube movie. I wonder if it would have helped. I think Cube 2 is supposed to be a puzzle that unravels throughout the show, but the end result was a major disappointment. The "participants" kept seeing all these equations on the walls of the cube where someone was supposedly trying to figure out how to get out. But in the end, they didn't really have to figure out how to get out. They just had to wait. I guess they got stuck in there because the bad people wanted to observe their behavior, but I'm very unclear why. "Why" is important.

I also didn't get what the 4th dimension was (the dimension that makes it a hypercube). Sometimes gravity would shift. Sometimes time would shift. Sometimes there would be a different time signature from one room to the next. There were alternate realities that would collide at other times. It was like they were just trying different things for effect or something.

I admit, though, that I watched it twice. The second time was to see things that I could only notice having seen the whole thing once through. There wasn't much I missed. And I was annoyed that they threw in a sex scene. Sheesh... was that really necessary? tongue

I don't want to completely pan the movie, though. It seems to be part of a bigger story. I'd like to see the first Cube, and any sequels if they make them. Then maybe Cube 2: Hypercube will make some sense.
