The cool thing about Wilford Brimley is that he is like "every grandfather" or something. That guy epitomizes(sp?) "grandad".
Okay this gives me a segway to blab about my own grandad (on my mom's side). I remember when I was like 13 I went with him to his yearly physical. After about an hour of tests and junk our doctor came out and said he was pretty much very healthy, but then asked him how much alcohol he drank cause he was worried about his liver. My grandpa said he liked to have two glasses of Scotch while watching tv before bed (my grandpa would always have two small glasses of scotch, in a five or six ounce glass, in the evening). Dr. Langon told him to cut it down to one glass of scotch a night. My grandpa did, except from then on, he used a twelve ounce glass for his scotch.

Great story gmd!
I always liked this movie. Lots of feel-good stuff, and poignant moments too, like the old guy who wouldn't join the rest at the end, as he felt it was the right thing to do to stick around. Lots of interesting moral questions raised ...
