I don't like many old movies. Errr... did I just hear Peppermint Tina gasp? wink People overact in old movies. Especially old movies with children! But this was one of my favorite books when I was a kid. I read it at least twice. I've seen the movie before, too. The thing I remembered most from reading the book was the car, "Foolish Carriage." I didn't remember the name they called it, but I remembered it was a Pierce Arrow. I'm not sure they even mention that in the movie... it's just one of those little things that stayed lodged in my brain all these years. When I think of "Pierce Arrow," I think of that song, "Me and My Arrow." And that makes me think of a very short segment from an animated show, but I don't know which one. When I think of that animated show, I feel sad. Isn't it wierd how these threads of thought pan out?

Anyway... I was looking up Cheaper By The Dozen at IMDB, and found out they're going to start filming a remake with Steve Martin and Queen La·tifa next month. Queen La·tifa? Who's she going to play? (Edit: Never mind... they took Queen La·tifa off of the cast list now).

Back to the 1950 movie... there's a lady in it who plays the head of a birth control organization. She looked familiar, so I looked her up, too. She played Corrie's Mom in Barefoot in the Park. That's one of the few old movies I like. Okay.. I keep going off on tangents. I think if you like old movies that are cute and charming, you'll like Cheaper By The Dozen. smile
