Yay! Movies!

Nothing too special about this movie... just some Vin Diesel eye candy. Diesel plays Sean, a cop who busts a big drug lord down in Mexico. Then his wife is murdered, and he makes it his personal mission to bring down whomever is responsible. Sean and his wife lived in a house on the beach. I couldn't help but wonder... Another excellent film by Christopher Guest and crew. A mockumentary about folk groups coming back together for a reunion. The Spinal Tap guys are together again, but in an alternate destiny where they continued on as "The Folksmen" instead of turning into the goofy metal band "Spinal Tap." Chris O'Donnell is cute. He's got a great smile, and that's usually what I'm attracted to in celebrities. That said, I guess I really couldn't relate to this movie. Made was written and directed by Jon Favreau who is quickly becoming one of my favorite actors/directors/writers. He's very funny, and quite endearing in the scenes with his girlfriend's little girl. I loved this movie. A lot. Jessica Lange is a widow and mother of two. When her husband dies, he leaves her with some big bills. She has to move from a small town to Baltimore to find a job. I thought this movie was going to be all kinds of serious, but there's some quirkiness to keep it light.... [Men Don't Leave continued]

It took everything I had to keep from aborting this movie before the end. Ugh... BORing. Of course, it helped a whole lot that John Cusack was in it. And Kevin Spacey. Such a cute movie!! Holly Hunter plays a girl who has a bad reputation, but is trying to get a good reputation. She wants to win the Miss Firecracker pageant like her cousin did years before. I wasn't too crazy about this movie. John Cusack's character finds a bunch of money that fell out of an armored car and then tries to get it laundered and stuff. I'm scared. The Mothman Prophecies is full of unexplained creepiness. I liked it, though. Mark Pellington directed it.
