Yay! Movies!

I liked this movie. My favorite parts were when Russell Crowe almost smiled. That happened several times. You could see the smile in his eyes, but his mouth never quite formed it. Wow... Backdraft was better than I thought it would be. It has action and mystery and great special effects. I didn't much like the end, but that's just me. The DVD cover for Bark! is misleading. It looks like it's going to be some gratuitous sex movie (not!), and it doesn't even credit Heather Morgan who plays Lucy, a lady who thinks she's a dog. This is one of the few movies I've seen at the theater in the past several years, and it was well worth it! It amazes me that people can think up this stuff. It's directed by Spike Jonze. This is my favorite Kim Novak movie! She plays a witch who casts a spell on Jimmy Stewart to fall in love with her. I wasn't greatly impressed with this movie, but I think I'm glad I watched it. Arliss Howard is a writer trying to get his stories published, but mostly getting a mailbox full of rejection letters. Before this movie, I didn't know exactly why our armed forces were in Somalia. It's unbelievable that there are societies where warlords rule and keep food from the people. I love Kim Novak in this movie. The past several movies I've seen her in (not including that awful Moll Flanders movie), she's been very serious and sometimes creepy. But in this one she's fun. I didn't much like this movie. It's got Russell Crowe and Salma Hayek in it, and they love each other, but can't get along. So they keep breaking up and getting back together. I really have a love hate relationship with Jerry Lewis. I don't mind his silly stuff as long as it doesn't take a long time. Sometimes the gags just go on forever.
