If you figure the Castaway thing out, please let me know. I've seen that movie 3 times, and it continues to escape me.
On another note, thanks to the glory of Tivo, I have now seen every episode of Road Rules ever made. Does life get any better than that?

I guess he figured that package was really special and he better hold on to it to deliver...hmmmm...

Maybe the stuff about that package was meant to be puzzling.

I have sooo much I want to tell TiVo to find and record. I hadn't even thought of Road Rules! Whew... I've got lots of those I need to see. I'd love to see all of season two over again. I had such a big crush on Timmy.

Did you see the Castaway-takeoff commercial during the Super Bowl? That was pretty funny.

I didn't see it 'cos there weren't any teams I liked in the Superbowl. Maybe they'll play it again during American Idol or something.

To Kim

Guess what? After much research I found that the Final scene in the movie Castway Was filmed at the intersection FM 48 and FM 1268, north of Mobeetie, TX in Hemphill county.

Texas has a film commission which provides those answers.

Wood Woohoo!

Yay! Movies!

Movie

Castaway

Castaway at Amazon
Tom Hanks, the Fed Ex guy, stuck all by himself on an island. I guess it's better than being stuck on an island with that fast talking Fed Ex guy from those old commercials. Can you imagine? Anyway... I liked this movie okay. Some people are put off by it saying it's just a long advertisement for Fed Ex. That didn't bother me, though. I got excited that the beginning and the end took place in Texas. You might not have noticed it, but I noticed a Texas highway sign at the intersection of the roads they were driving on. (UPDATE: Wood researched the intersection and reports that it's the intersection FM 48 and FM 1268, north of Mobeetie, TX in Hemphill county. Yay, Wood!) I really liked the shots from high up on that, um, high place on the island where you could see way out in the ocean. You could see the waves coming in, but they looked so tiny. Then when he was down there in the waves trying to get away, they were so big and hard to get across.

One thing I didn't understand is (and this might be *spoilers* if you haven't seen it) why he wrote that note at the end that said that package saved his life. I went back and scanned through, but couldn't really find out why. I guess maybe one of the reasons he fought to survive was so he could deliver that package? And that package was special because it had those wings drawn on it? He didn't really care about delivering the other packages. It was fun when he opened those. It was like Christmas. smile
