Whoo hoo! A Better Off Dead post, I thought I was the only one that did that! My two favorite scenes;

When the garbage men see John Cusack (sp?) go under the bridge in the garbage truck; "What a terrible waste of a white guy." That was hiliarious.
and
After he gets dumped by his girlfriend, every radio station he turns is playing some type of break up song.

Is it terrible to admit I have never seen this movie? I love Say Anything, though!

laugh That's a great line! I almost put it on my list, but my list got so long... there are so many great lines!

And it's one of those movies where you can notice something different everytime you watch.

Christy! You gotta see it! It's a little different from Say Anything because it's more of a silly comedy. I don't usually like silly comedies, but this one is funny and cute! But there is some chick movie romantic stuff in it, too. smile

Yay! Movies!

Better Off Dead

Better Off Dead at Amazon
A classic movie from Savage Steve Holland. I wish that guy would make more movies. Yeah... more movies with John Cusack, too. That would be awesome. The first time I saw this, I was in college. And I was high. Now you won't hear me talking about being high much here at Yay! It's a Blog because it hasn't happened very many times and probably won't again. Not that there's anything wrong with that... just saying. Anyway... it was the first time, and the scene with the claymation hamburger playing Eddie Van Halen's guitar and singing with David Lee Roth's voice was the funniest thing I'd ever seen. Of course, it's not really the funniest thing I've ever seen, but it was at that particular moment.

It was Easter weekend, too. And my friend got the great idea to go somewhere and ski right after we finished watching the movie. It was exciting times because we lived in San Marcos, Texas, so we'd be driving to another state to go skiing. But before the movie was over, he decided his car wasn't reliable enough to get us there. I'm sure that was a good decision for many reasons, but I sure was disappointed at the time.

Anyway... this movie cracks me up and if you haven't seen it, you just gotta. My favorite lines are:

  • I had to buy that guy a new hat that time
  • Didn't *ask* for a dime. Two Dollars.
  • Fronch fries, fronch dressing, and fronch bread. And to drink... tada... Peru.
  • Gee, I'm real sorry your mom blew up, Ricky
And it wouldn't be a true 80's movie without Elizabeth Daily singing. Man... that girl can hit the high notes! The soundtrack is true 80's music. My favorite song... Howard Jones' "I'd Like To Get To Know You Well." Woo-Hoo!
