I hate subtitles. I've got the solution in three easy letters:

D-V-D

Watching it in English is so delightful. Same for "Sleeping Poodle, Prancing Tiger" or whatever that kung-fooey movie was. laugh

i just looked at my dvd of it and there's no english language option on mine.

seriously kim, it's the feel good movie of the year. watch it, even if you just watch it and don't read it. it's a beautiful movie. if you read it you'll see it's a lifechanger. if you don't read it you'll see it's a beautiful and interesting movie. please watch it!

I don't own this one but I did watch it. I checked and the DVD does not have an English audio track. Perhaps I watched the PPV version with secondary audio. All I can tell you is that I watched it and I didn't read it. grin

Sorry, bud... I'm pretty sure I wouldn't enjoy it without knowing what the people are saying. I'll see if I can find whatever Kevin saw, though. Thanks, Kevin. smile

movies are art and they're supposed to make you think sometimes. amelie is an awesome movie, and i personally think that if they dubbed the voices over with english ones it wouldnt have the same feel to it.

I prefer subtitled to dubbed but I'd rather watch almost anything before watching a subtitled movie.

i luved this movie it was the best how the shots wer framed, the story line, the actors, Audrey Tautou specially, i loved the bit where Amélie says quote "A least, you can't be a vegetable, because even a artichoke has heart" im doin a review on it at the moment for school as it has some avantgarde aspects.Over all 10 outta 10 smile

Amelie (sub)

Amelie (subtitles) at Amazon
I was soooo looking forward to seeing this movie. I kept hearing great comments about it whenever someone mentioned it. I turned it off just after the opening credits. I didn't realize there were subtitles. I have no problem with movies in other languages, but I can't enjoy it if I'm distracted by having to read. I'll watch it when they put out a "dubbed in English" version or when I learn French.
