I want to live in a world ...
- where alcoholic beverages don't make people drunk.
- where people don't question others' expertise just because that expertise inconveniences them.
- where cell phone conversations are limited to private areas like people's own homes, cubicles and parked cars. It is unacceptable to talk on a phone in a public restroom unless you have fallen, and you can't get up.
- where drugs only heal.
- where people don't expect me to act a certain way and assume crazy stuff about me if I don't.
- where one can have a circle of friends who are there to help each other without the expectation of socializing.
- where violence is a strange, incomprehensible part of history.
- where money doesn't motivate; doing good motivates.
- where all religion is tolerant.
- where we don't have to make laws anymore because people do the right thing on their own.
- where happy hour includes something to do besides drink and talk.
- where there's someone to take care of my babies should I get real sick.
- where someone, somewhere learns how to make a good purse. And pants. Good pants would be helpful.
- where extroverts understand introverts. And introverts understand extreme introverts.
- where state consititutions don't discriminate against gays and lesbians.
- where I can go to a social gathering and not leave in tears.
But especially in a world
- where someone will finally want to be with me. And I wouldn't push them away without intending to. I think if that was possible the rest wouldn't matter.
Given that I don't live in that world
I wish I could be at peace with the chaos. I know being at peace is a choice. I just can't figure out how to choose it.
